Sunday, September 6, 2009 Term 3 is over! Finally hols... i can sleep more... haha =D Teachers' day celebration on monday was ok... pretty uptight the whole day and my biggest regret is that i didnt have a chance to pray with the com. but i did pray on my own, because i knew we can plan for everything, but it's only God who can make all things work well. And yup, God was with us... the whole concert went on well. And even the simple performance during lunch went on well. =) Thank God... Learning point: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your path straight! Well... guess i need to learn to trust and not get so uptight everytime... :) and i pray that i will grow into the roles given to me even better...:) Labels: In the mirror, School -The Princess Jesus Loves- 2:40 AM
Exams are finally over, all the markings too. Yays! haha.. Invigilation can be abit tiring though. :P Now that exams are over, the students are having post exams activity, i suddenly felt like a business woman, cum entrepreneur cum inventor. HAHA.. having to guide them along with their projects. Thank God too, for whatever He is doing in my life. Went through quite abit of things recently, cell, grandma's death... But i saw Him with me and i know that through all these things He is moulding me and showing me more things. :) Thank God for what He is doing in my cell. :) It wasn't easier to face all the things, but thankfully, we managed to talk some things out. Pray that i will learn and grow to be a better leader. Felt a burden off my shoulders too. Guess i have been depending too much on my own strength. Will learn to depend more on Him. :) Didn't know that i was pretty much affected by granny's issues. But i knew sth was in my heart and was affecting how i see ppl and think. Thankfully pastor sat me down and talked through certain things. Realised that it is really ok to be not ok, but it's impt how we manage our emotions and be mature. Talking it through and releasing the issues to God really set my heart back again. :) "Daddy God, pls let granny come to You." Labels: In the mirror, School -The Princess Jesus Loves- 12:19 AM
new post finally! Havent been updating for 1 month plus. Let's see... work is ok, lots of marking, teaching, preparing and admin. But generally still fine. Have really nice seniors at work and good friends to play with. =D Went to cambodia from 27 aug to 31 aug. Missed my first teachers' day. Quite sad, cos i was involved in the planning and couldn't be around to see the results. Thank God that everything went well, and most of the teachers enjoyed it. =) Was initially very anxious and apprehensive for the cambodia trip because i didnt know anyone else on the trip except mr tang. Well, huihui is shy you know. HAHA.. And the best thing was, i woke up late on the morning i'm flying off.. super paiseh. :p Didnt miss the plane la, was just late for meeting up with the rest. Mr tang, siva and choilin waited for me, checked in and all. but they went in first and left me with my parents and sis. Suddenly felt like i've grown up when i walked through the gates on my own..... Luckily i met up with mr tang and walked on together. :) Not my first trip to cambodia, so pretty thankful because at least it wasnt so foreign... We visited tuol sleng museum, a korean missionary's dye house, village works on the first day. Quite ok, just saddened again to see the museum. Such cruelty of human... mr tang asked why did God allow such things to happen? I knew the standard model answer was... because it's man's choice, man's sin. But i felt a sadness in my heart... God, we do need Your intervention, even today. Was amazed at the korean missionary's obedience to God, to leave everything in korea and go to cambodia. And amazingly, he found his wife in the process.. really a testimony of obedience and God's blessing. During debrief, quite a few mentioned him and questioned his decision. Saw it as irrational and dont know how real it can be. Wanted to stand up for him... but yet i know, it's difficult for others to see the blind faith. I pray though, that i might have this type of faith. Second day, went to dumpsite, lakesite, killing field and widow's island. Was really an experience for me... seeing the huge amount of waste, flies everywhere, smelly, unhygenic... yet the people had to walk through the rubbish to collect useful things, burn them away and live beside them. I remember ps rol showed a photo of a little girl in cambodia and i recognised that i could be that girl, staying in the bad conditions. That day, i saw the little children, i was reminded of how blessed i am in spore. They too, are God's children... And when a little boy touched my hand to say hi. My first reaction was... gosh, so dirty, i need to clean my hands later. But immediately, God spoke to my heart. it's an innocence of a child, and compassion for them. I felt guilty and changed my attitude. The small streets they lived in were worse. Every hut was linked, barely a shelter, with only some metal/cardboard as ceiling and walls. Cloth to cover the rest of the huts, which are held up by sticks from grounds that were wet and soggy. A fire can easily destroy everything... but every one had no choice but stay there. Yet they smiled at us... the simplicity.... the lakesite was slightly better.... houses are more well done, but not very. Similar to our kampong times. Oh oh.. i saw snail's eggs! Really interesting because the people catch snails from the lake, sell or eat them. The children are just happily running around and looking at us, visitors.. HAHa. we must be weirdo. And a little boy cheekily pressed a food wrapper into my hand. HAHA! Killing field... saw pictures from xiangru and pastor before. Not too emotional, but again saddened.. like.. thousands of people were just slaughtered as if their lives didnt matter. how can a man be so selfish, to think of himself, wanting to clean up the society and make everyone submissive to him, with no mind of their own. Turning people into killing machines, separating families and causing so much pain. :( Went to widow's island last. Quite sad, cos the govt wanted to "help" the widows after all the war, brought them and the orphans to the island. But left them there because of the lack of ability to provide and help. Really simple place too... the widows learn to wieve, make handicrafts, plant padi, rear animals.... Third day was shopping, and travelling on a super long ride to siam rep. Really love the beautiful landscape. i took so many photos... HAHA.. the blue sky, green fields, padi, cows, huts.... never see in spore. =) And enjoyed talking to mr tang, found out more about my neighbour. HAHa... pretty surprised that we could share so much... now i know his secret and he knows mine. HAHA Siam rep.. more tourist place. Visited the temples on the fourth day. To me, it was like seeing my history textbook came to live! Seeing how a kingdom rose and collapsed, seeing cravings on the walls, seeing how the people were talented to crave, build, design the temples. Like... wow... the kings must have spent the entire life building the temples... we climbed up one of the temples to see the sunset. super challenging! The steps were so steep... imagine.. around 15 cm wide and 30 cm high steps... to almost hmm... 5 storeys? i'm scared of heights u know... but i conquered it! heh heh... Last day was just travelling to airport and flying back to spore. Such eventful trip and..... i must say, i enjoyed the trip. HAHA. made lots of friends... though i seemed to be the target of "suaning", they always suan me. But they did take care of me, cos i'm the youngest. HAHA.. i guess i'll remember this trip. =) Wow.. long post le. HAHa... shall stop here. Will be back to share more. =) -The Princess Jesus Loves- 10:41 PM
Haven't been posting. Guess i was busy at work, sometimes i was so drained i would fall asleep on the sofa and wake up not knowing how i end up on my bed. HAHA. And sometimes, i cant even hear my alarm clock, so i took many cabs recently... bad bad. :( But thank God, i don't feel really stressed. Really have to thank Him for His strength and being in PL is such a blessing because we have singspiration and devotion in the morning, helping ms to start the day by praying and worshipping. Of course cabbing had advantage too. Was able to read the 40 dayfast booklet and spend time praying in the cab. =) Highlight for these weeks... should be dance workshop by michelle leanney and karen from hillsongs. They were such a blessing, sharing their hearts and blessing us loads with their sharings. Pastor asked for our reflections on thurs... i reflected that i guess i have grown even more this year. Last year, still remembered feeling unworthy to be a dance leader, but this year, i had the peace to know that God has a place for me. And my response is to offer my alabastar jar to God. Like Mary who poured the whole jar of perfume and used her hair to clean Jesus' feet. I pray that i can give all that i have to God. Of course, shared my little dream for dance with the core team. hehe... quite interesting that this dream came to me after kelvin shared that alot of our dreams are actually wishes... which is true. Sometimes when we are asked to think about our dreams for God, we try to think of dreams that are politically correct, dreams that are too small cos of our lack of faith, or dreams that are selfish and self-centred. But God has big dreams, dreams for His people, dreams that will bless and bring Him glory, beyond our imagination. Sounds exciting... dream for God. =) Oh, and of course, another highlight... HAPPY NATIONAL DAY!!! had national day celebration in school. Teo ser luck is good looking... HEHE. And tall... too bad he left early. but celebration was good. St john marched real well.. *proud* End off here... wishing Singapore Happy Birthday... and pray Hag 2 for our nation. 6 "This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'In a little while I will once more shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land. 7 I will shake all nations, and the desired of all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory,' says the LORD Almighty. 8 'The silver is mine and the gold is mine,' declares the LORD Almighty. 9 'The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,' says the LORD Almighty. 'And in this place I will grant peace,' declares the LORD Almighty." " 'From this day on I will bless you.' " -The Princess Jesus Loves- 2:41 AM
Back to update. Hmm... School has been alright. Went for a camp in the first 3 days and many exciting things happened! haha... ambulance, snake, ndp. Woah.. was pretty tired after the camp, but thankful for it because i got to know more people and got to know some better. I missed the times we slack in the dorm and talk.... =) Back to normal school time... still managing, but i can see the pile of homework to be marked. haha. My classes are still quite ok, since they are lower sec. Some girls are pretty adorable too.. =) back to a familiar ground, but different role... feels... interesting. HAHA. Starting on 40 days fast.. fasting on breakfast or lunch, but since my stomach feels weird sometimes, i'm also fasting from games and snacks at night, in case i cant fast from meal. fasting on snack can be real difficult for me, especially at night. God is also speaking to me through the booklet. It is not about going through the 40 days as a routine, duty... not to fast for our own pleasure or delight, not to feed our ego or to be focus on ourselves. It is fasting for God... the fast that pleases God is that when we remember the poor, when we seek Him with all our hearts and when we put down our own interest and allow Him to tranform our hearts. Today's sermon was a starter for it. Pastor Bray was super good... i like him. =) He can rap, sing, play the keyboard and he preaches real well.. The message did come from God, timely and accurately. We must die to our self-consciousness. Being self-conscious will lead to fear - fear of people's approval, opinions and judgement on us, to shame - to feel unworthy, guilty, shameful, to shifting of blame and to rejection. How true... being self-conscious stops us from reaching our potential, from fulfilling our talents, from allowing God's will to come through in our lives.. But i don't want to miss out on all these blessings, i want to be the best that i can be, so that i can fulfill the plans of God in my life. I axed that tree of self-consciousness today. It might still grow back, so i need to continually weed my life and don't let any tree of self-consciousness takes root.. no no... believe and have faith, it shall be done, will be done, is done! =) Labels: Christ in me, School -The Princess Jesus Loves- 1:58 AM
Updates! haha. Practicum has been ok, just a little tiring because i'm planning lesson every day. My friends at practicum are fun, enjoy myself with them. =) Now it's holiday, so i hope i can plan more lessons, then during the school term, i would have more time to mark, to hand in my lesson plans on time and to do other things. Dance had been good. We had been joining the adults to do ballet. Royston would lead super stretching warm up, sarah would lead cool circuit training, then kelvin will teach us ballet. Really like it. haha! i've learnt new skills, hopefully to apply them and improve my dance. Oh, and i lost weight. HAHA.... dance dance dance! Church is great too... Not like i am walking really strong in faith and woohoo kind. But i know that God is at work in our lives, dealing with issues of brokenness, intimacy, discipline... And pastor has been reminding us, that as we press on in this 40 days fast and a psalm a day, God is going to reward us. The sanctification weekend next week will just be a small taste of what it will be like. He is going to pour forth! question: are we standing in the direction of His flow? Reminded me of what pastor paul shared during one of the dance practices. He was having G12 on wed, and he saw a vision of a dam. A dam is used to generate electricity because the flow of the water will turn the turbines. And God is telling us, that He is going to pour through the dam and generate such great power and electricity. We are the dam, the turbines... if we stand in the flow of the Lord, He will pour onto us and give us suc great power! Don't stand at the side to watch, don't miss out, come and experience that power! Been trying to wake up early so that i can spend at least half an hour with the Lord in the morning. Not one hour, but it's a struggle because i'm not having enough sleep. haha. And i dont feel like wow wow kind.. just a peace that i am doing what God has called. Somehow i sense that God is testing me, wanting to train and discipline me, so that i can press on through this 40 days fast. Slowly, i only fasted from computer games, then past 2 weeks i'm trying to wake up earlier, havent really spend one hour everyday, but trying. Now i'm trying to fast breakfast. I'm not perfect and like doing everything well, but i hope i can please God and press on in what He wants me to do. Last thurdays was leaders' meeting. Pastor Eugene shared that to have a heart transformation, we need a heart that is tender, teachable and transparent. Unless God can transform me, He cannot use me to transform others. Pastor Julie shared that we need to set our minds and hearts to follow God's way, because when we have a made-up mind, we will have the power and determination to do God's things and follow His commands. Then Pastor Yang Cherng shared about courtship. HAHA. he is really funny please. =D Also celebrated pastor laifun's birthday. Happy Birthday grandma! I'm praying for Your will be done in my life. Lead me in Your ways Lord. =) Labels: A simple life, School, Sharing with you -The Princess Jesus Loves- 6:03 PM
First day of practicum! Last week was a relaxing week for me. Went to see the doctor for my lips, allegy, and had my wisdom teeth extraction. I'm less wise now. HAHA. Quite ok, just that there are 2 ulcers formed near it, so more painful. Sunday's sermon was..... no words to describe. haha. Was feeling abit lost and frustrated on sat night, like havent really been fasting and praying, cant feel the move and heart of God. I need more. Then on sun, something happened at home. Added to my frustration and lostness. I need God. Sermon on brokenness. guess i havent been broken recently. It's always a journey of brokenness, more and more each time. It's never complete... like one time broken, then done. Because when we consider ourselves once broken and done, we allow pride to come in and say "I'm ok le, cos God has dealt with me." And for me, i know i need to respond to God. Like what lionel wrote in his blog, i can be serving God, leading cell, dancing etc... but my heart has gone cold. I have lost that first love, that passion and fervor for God. Like what pastor khong said, i know what is right and what to do, but the heart of it all is missing. I need a heart transplantation. Thank God for showing me. Woke up earlier this morning to spend some time with God. Not like a wow wow feeling or what. But it's just peaceful and nice to know that i can still do it for Him. Then school. HAHA. Didnt get to meet the students in class because one of my CTs was on MC, missed the other's lesson. The staff are generally nice. And the students were so excited to see us. HAHA. According to the SCM, they like to see new teachers. OH, huimin, my school starts school at 850am on mon. HAHa. 730-850 is for the teachers to do their sharings. So... tmr i shall go in and meet the students in class. hehe. Labels: Christ in me, In the mirror, School -The Princess Jesus Loves- 12:57 AM
Havent been blogging, too lazy! haha. Time passes so fast! my gosh... CNY is over, Valentine's day is over, my school term is ending and practicum is starting. that rhymes. haha.. Let's see what i have been doing recently. Went to pastor's place on chu san. Enjoyed myself. haha. played abit of majong, talked to pastors, my girls had fun with sheryl (i hope. haha)... chu si, in church was ok. Pastor Khong is back! and he shared on resting and being still in the Lord. Kind of cool, like resting in storms! i want! First we must trust in the Lord and do good. hang in with God, even if things are difficult now. Continue to have faith in Him, and do good, we will then dwell in his safety. Second we need to delight ourselves in the Lord and be satisfied. When our greatest delight, desires and plans are the same as God, God will bless us with whatever we want, because that's what He wants too! Imagine, ask for anything and it will be given! But we need to deny ourselves... a journey i am still learning. Finally, we need to commit ourselves to the Lord and we will have success. I like the How Would Success Looks Like from pastor. I used to think that success will be having less problems, i will be a strong christian, strong disciples, everything good. HAHa. But God showed me that success is when He brings us to steeper slopes, bigger challenges, requires more commitment, because it means we are grow stronger! Weekdays, back to school, mugged for assignments. 1 lesson plan, 2 essays and 1 presentation in that week. Hee. Oh, then i must blog about thursday. Went down to train with adult dance team. They are very disciplined. First warm up by royston. Really good warm up. HAHA. i felt stretched. Then circuit training... i heard this term, i scare. because i used to have really "xiong" circuit training when i was in netball. But thankfully, the circuit training wasnt like the ones i had. But "xiong" enough to make me felt i have exercised. Kelvin then went through some routines on ballet. haha! quite fun actually, like tiptoe, chine, turns, spot... I've learnt something new. Practising at home eh.. Came the part i must blog on. Pastor paul joined us at 930pm, and we went into spiritual training. so cool right! physical then spiritual. So he got us to read psalm 45, and shared abit. Like Jesus being the King, and we are the bride. He also shared from his experience in bogota, when he lost his wallet and got it back the next day. The adults also had one group to minister from that psalm using dance. Cool! But the best part was when pastor paul shared about his spiritual experience. He was feeling quite blue on monday. Monday blues... and he read psalm 42. Then the next day psalm 43. God brought out the point, why are you so downcast? And he realised he doesnt have to. So he shared psalm 43:5, that when we are feeling down, one way to get out of it, is to praise God. Psalm 8:2, God ordained praises from children because they are the most innocent and would know how to thank God easily and freely. Then Pastor paul gave this illustration. When we are down and struggling, it's like having many little demons holding on to us. No matter how we shake, we cannot get them off. But God says, the best way is to praise Him. When we praise Him, the demons cannot take it. They cant stand the praises of God, and its power. So...... they will cover their ears. With 2 hands covering their ears, how to hold on to us? So all we need to do is to jump and dance, then the demons will fall off! So cute right! But so true. So if you are facing any problems today, praise God and jump and dance with joy!!! =D Labels: Christ in me, In the mirror, School -The Princess Jesus Loves- 2:57 AM
I love Dr Vivien Huan! HAHA... Dr huan is my tutor for a module dealing with youth at risk. She's like super pro, cool, friendly, nice, warm, fun, passionate about the youths, experienced... Just fantastic! haha.. I really like her class, cos she just make you feel very at ease, we could share openly all the things, laugh and have fun. After mdm ho left, she's one who can motivate me to enjoy lesson. HAHA. Do i sound like i'm deeply in love with her? No worries, i'm straight. Just... really enjoy her lesson and inspired by her passion and expertise. I want to be like her. =) Ok... cannot just blog about her la. Hmm. NIE has been good, i like it here, some pretty nice tutors... My chem tutor, Dr yan, a little strict, but i learnt new things from him. Social context tutor, Mr gary lit, one funny guy.. imagine jim carrey. HAHA. He looks like him, and he can talk really alot.. Maths tutor is mrs yeo... well... ok la. =) But i really still like youth at risk the most. HAHA. Really nice module, totally dont regret waking up at 5 plus 6, reaching school before 9, and registering for this module within 15 s, cos within 30 s, it is filled. (see how popular it is?) How fun... today, we just went to visit Northlight school. It's a centralised education institution where students who failed PSLE can come to and they are equipped wih skills so that they can either further their studies in ITE or be equipped for work. I'm totally amazed by the programme and facilities they have. They have drama, dance room, training room for housekeeping (imagine a mini hotel room in a school, nicer than my room..), for retail (imagine mini 7-11.. with the scanning thing, barcode with northlight school instead of NTUC), for hair dressing (they had Jean yip coming in to help), for F&B (with bar counter, proper utensils and cutlery).... Super cool! And i'm even more touched by the heart of the principal and staff.. esp the OM who served us. The principal is the previous principal of shuqun sec, who already amazed me during one of the MOE TA briefing. (She didnt field her star bball player cos of some discipline problem, and lost the crucial match, but she didnt care cos the boy matters more) She's like so nice lah... humorous too, but she doesnt laugh at her own jokes. "the students must work for the money they are given by the school, cos we are a work fair society, not welfare." Didnt bother telling the students that there are visitors, cos we can then see them in their nature form. I'm so moved by her passion for the students. I want to be like her too! =D Let me share the phrase that was printed on their souvenir. "Hope is a powerful word. When the wolrd says, "Give up!" Hope whispers, "Try it one more time." simple, familiar... but really inspiring. And they have card which has a part where you scratch away with a coin. Each card has a different message. Mine reads, "With hope, nothing is impossible." =) Labels: School, Sharing with you -The Princess Jesus Loves- 12:10 AM
whee... school has started today. haha. no more holidaying for me... First day of school is ok. 2tutorials.. First one in the morning, youth at risk. The tutor is pretty nice, very real w us, rich experience. She sounded like she sits in the juries of the juvenile court. Laughed abit, the class is also pretty nice, like not very competitive, just open to share and smiley. haha. maths, we are so comfortable with one another le. haha! just tt we had a new tutor. She's a little boring. oops.. but she's nice lah. tries to connect w us. probably too many admin on the first day. =) Sat.. Out whole day, G12 n open cell in the morning, pretty interesting to be meeting in the morning instead of night, having breakfast instead of dinner. haha.. then cell with my girls. They laughed alot, at me. haha.... and met cheryl's mum finally. She looks so young, and pretty, and nice. =) Then, dad fetched me and we went for dinner... HAHA... resting eh. Sun. Church.... served on platform. The funniest part must be when me n candy realised the dancers were on the cover page of the bulletin! so cool lah! Though i'm not inside, it's really nice to see the dancers on the front page, so vibrant and cool! =D Platform was cool too! Dont know why, but i just felt alot of joy on stage, not only from me, but from the others. Like.... smiling at one another, making mistakes and not feeling too bad about it, just continue and smile for God... it's within. haha.. and sermon was pretty fun too, maybe cos we were laughing at one another, or at the jokes... bouncing bladers.. transformers. =D Open cell, had a newcomer.. joyce who was TJ's Leo club's president, 2 yrs my senior.. haha. but i dont rmb her. Nvm.. it was still nice to gather and share. Celebration team appreciation dinner! highlight of the night..=) Was seated with familiar faces, ruixiang, vanessa seow, junyan, haoteng, jeremiah, allen, esther, kenneth, ps rol n laifun n reuel. Our table went mad first cos vanessa introduced a card game, asap.. like suppose to flip 2 cards and say a word in the category on one, starting with the alphabet on the other. eunice joined too and we were shouting out words.. but the best must be ps rol's joke which made us laugh till stomach cramp.. HAHA. And we had mass ice breakers, like charade, but they used lyrics of songs instead. haha... we got 1.. and it's really fun to like hold each other's hand and stand up together. Food was great! yummilicious! loved the laksa... and everything else. sadly, i didnt get to eat the mango pudding. :( appreciation night would not be appreciation night without appreciation. time of appreciating one another... =) nice to see the whole team coming together more. Ps julie also shared her thoughts.. her words for us were in line with what ps khong shared during sermon, for us to grow in our spiritual walk with God, so that when we worship, it comes from within us... and people around us cant help, but be inspired by our worship. God pointed this out to me during sermon, and further emphasized it during the dinner. So good right... we can teach, share, do together, lead, show, but the better way is to inspire...can u imagine when u stand beside someone, and when that person worship, u just feel that connection and it draws u to worship too... i felt before. i pray that person will be me soon! =) Ps eugene shared a word too.. his was that success is not equal to succession, but equal to multiplication. Succession means finding replacement, but multiplication means having more... and i guess it does link to ps julie's sharing, that when we inspire people, people who do what we do... that's multiplication... =) more dancers, worshippers.... and when more get inspired, more multiplication, the church will be set on fire cos everyone is inspired to inspire and worship. i'm getting excited. haha..=) Labels: A simple life, Event, School -The Princess Jesus Loves- 1:50 AM
Holiday has started! Finally motivated myself to finish up my last assignment which is due on fri. Have emailed it to my lecturer and i am on unofficial holiday. haha. 3 dec is the official one. Well, one semester in NIE is over. I guess i have enjoyed myself, even though there are alot of assignments. But it's a good feeling to be a paid student. haha. And have my friends here, and made new ones too... school is good. Been busying with practising dance for CDP too. Like the dance alot. =) A few more to learn...those who were having exams are also back to join us. So there are more people now, which is good. Went for vanessa's birthday party on sat. You should see how cand, xiong n me chose her presents. HAHA! We were so childish.. and the sales assistane was amused with us too. And how we hide outside her house to write a note while shin kept dropping the bag. HAHA. Vanessa's place is super nice! Like a comfy place for people to gather, watch TV, chill.... abit like resort style too. very very nice. the rooms are very comfy too.. but i esp like the toilet! haha. crazy. but really... it's hidden i like. =D Party was fun with the familiar ppl from dance. Her tribe was pretty playful and fun too.. But i love the songs ben n chris wrote for her. esp the little ballerina. If ben records it in a cd, i'll buy. haha! I will dance,dance,dance... I will sing,sing,sing... for You. :) Sun was service. 3S retreat coming up. yea! Pray tt it will be used by God mightily. hmm... my greatest bring away for sun is very simple. God said:"My greatest desire is you too. :) You are important to me. :)" Labels: Christ in me, Event, School -The Princess Jesus Loves- 2:49 AM
The last entry recorded 24 October. Today is 16 Nov. I havent blogged for almost 1 mth! haha... I know my readers miss me. Sorry.. i'm back! Lots of things happened within these weeks, assignments, projects, tests, GESL... I dont know where to start from for updating. hmm... End october, first week of Nov were pretty hectic and stressful for me. Lots of assignments due. BIG ones.. Ed psy essay, maths lesson plan, SMMT, chemistry test setting... Adding on, i have GESL. Had to settle things for the parade, like planning marshals, making sure i know the route, programme, and everything that needed to be done is settled. There are times when i was pretty stressed in Oct and was quite moody and cold towards certain people. haha. Sorry eh. though they wont see these, my NIE friends. But, i went through everything. =) thank God. highlight in NIE should be my last maths lesson in NIE, fri, 26 Oct. I am super sad pls.. Really LOVE mdm Ho, and feel so comfortable with my class. Like we have began to bond so well, maths lessons are so fun, lively and comfortable. i really learnt alot from mdm ho and totally dont mind being a maths teacher. I can laugh so hard during maths lesson that i sat on the floor once, or just laugh till stomachache. So... i was super sad during the last lesson. Bought a cake n card for mdm ho, gave her a little surprise and took photos. =) and even when i went to submit my lesson plan to her, it's like so nice.... she opened her door to wait for us. and her office really looks cosy, with soft deco. My work area will be like that too. Haha! i miss mdm ho... Another major thing in NIE must be my GESL project. Dr jane goodall's stampede. It's really big.... and i never know ow Dr Jane would be so popular. Met her on thurs to take a picture at raffles place. She looked really tired, cos of her many appointments and stuff. Managed to chat abit with her cos while taking the pic, i was near her. Then everyone kept quiet, abit weird... so i started a mini conversation with her. She's like my ah ma... just that she is ang mo and very active in the society. =) 2 nov. Super big day... Was really fun seeing all my GESL ppl and some volunteers wearing the parade shirt in school. like sense of belonging. Then we took bus to Botanic Garden. We were pretty enthusiastic on the way. Reached there, i wanted to walk the route again, but was told to paste signs first. I actually got quite upset, and i know some of my GESL people know, esp my com. haha... i think i scared my group leader abit. Cos pasting signs u dont need 5 people right, abit waste time and manpower. And walking the route to be more familiar and esp to be clearer abt the end point was more impt to me. In the end, after pasting the signs, it rained. Maybe good that i didnt go out to walk, or i will be caught in the rain... but the signs got wet too. Anyway, no choice, so i studied the map hard and well for the route and positioning of marshals. Thank God for my group mate who know the route better and offered to walk w me. People started streaming in at 3 plus.. then my marshals rom xinmin came, so i started work. briefing and organising.... running all around and there are many people by 430pm. Deployed the marshals. Thank God for the teachers who came along to help plant the students, cos some of them not as willing. Finished planting and found out that they have flagged off from Children's garden. Ran around again to make sure the route was ok and stuff. Then, i got scolded by 4 foreign ladies. They lost their ways and couldnt find enough information on the parade. I guess they are fans of Dr Jane. I couldnt even explain anything... they were just shooting at me one by one. All i could do was to apologise to appease them. Recovered pretty quickly cos the parade party was reaching me, so rushed rushed again. helped to pull out the costume competition winner, watched the people streamed into the Palm Valley, like woah... Everything went so quickly! Then i went to thank the marshals and duty over, so sat down at the Valley to watch the performance.. It's quite a sight to see soooo many people in palm valley, some in costumes, some there to picnic and hear Dr Jane. And some of the costumes are so nice! Suddenly felt like.... all the hard work... wow. Next day, 3 nov, sat, had SMMT, maths test for teachers. Super tough.. 19 questions in 2 hrs. Didnt have time to finish... and my head was spinning at the end. I hope i can pass, so that i dont have to take the second time. :( NIE... i am enjoying myself ever since GESL is over. haha.. like more relaxed though there are assignments due along the way. One, it's not as stressful. Two, my class is getting closer, enjoying more friendships now. three, i like being a student. :) ok... i have finish updating about school life. More in next post about church, enc camp... and baby Reuel is born on 30 oct! Labels: School -The Princess Jesus Loves- 1:24 AM
Thank God that my bro won a laptop by eating at pizzahut. So he has another laptop and passed me his old one. =) Could bring a laptop to school and made use of the breaks to do work. Completed 1 more during GESL meeting. Feel accomplished. Finished 3, but added 2 more. So i have 18 more assignments and tests, plus 1 huge project to handle. My GESL project is really huge... wildlife stampede at botanic garden on 2 nov, fri. Led by well-known conservationist Dr Jane Goodall. If you know her, she studies chimpanzees and goes around the world to promote the conservation of natural habitats for wildlife. yes kitty, she loves chimps. Watching her videos with chimps also made me think more about them. They can be pretty cute. HAHA. Having a headache now.... i have a maths test tmr. Here i am.. in NIE library, using "my" laptop. There's work to do, but i don't feel like doing. haha.. it's always like that. Great inertia to start work. But once i start, i will be ok and keep going. It's quite a nice view of NIE from the library though. V-shaped with nice plants. Mon. Had presentation for Ed Psy 1. HAHA. I acted as a naughty student who slept in class, shoved the chair and punched the teacher when the teacher tried to wake me up. And... the chair toppled when i kicked it. Not suppose to.. accident. And the whole class shocked, then started laughing. My friend even commented that he's scared of the student. HAHA. =P Hidden talent? Oh.. it's precious' birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY PRECIOUS!!! =) Labels: School -The Princess Jesus Loves- 12:19 PM
I had such a fulfilling week last week! HAHA. Had e-learning in NIE, so no lesson, except for communication skills. Think i had good life then, you are wrong... There was alot of assignments. Around 18 tasks to do. yes, that much. haha. And i go modern levites from thurs night to sat. So i wanted to finish as much as possible fast. Yes, time management. haha... I have never been so hardworking before.. haha, maybe have lah. But i think i'm pampered in NUS. HAHA. Past week, have been doing work from 10pm till 3/4 am, sleep, wake up at 12/1pm, then do work again.. woah. But, i am happy to announce, I HAVE JUST COMPLETED ALL MY E-LEARNING WORK! yes, i have.. including readings ok.I dont usu do the readings one. =) Modern Levites conference is just so cool! Paradise band and ps vivien hibbert. =) Learnt lot on worship, heart of worship, prophetic worship, worship leading.... and i sneak to a vocal session. heh. Alot of info and things to digest, esp by ps vivien..havent found time, but must start looking at her notes and going deeper in understanding. Oh, and i have a new conference buddy. haha.. vanessa seow, or that's what she called me..=) I like pastor mark anderson, he's very good looking! *drools* And he's such a humble man, sharing with us his past, admitting when he doesnt know how to answer a qn... and he's a quiet man. haha. I like anna and jaye too! Anna has a great voice, i want to sing like her. Jaye composes songs! gosh... I sound like some young girl facinating over these great people of God. haha.. and i got them to autograph. HAHA! No worries, they are not my idols.. just wanna remember them haha. Ps Vivien is the ultimate one. She autographed her book, prophetic worship, for me. Not anyhow one ok... she asked for my name, gave the meaning.. grace and favor.. I am highly favored! Then she thought for a while, seeming to be praying, before dropping the note, signing off.. And.. she dropped a bible passage! Ps rol was still saying she has a prophetic ministry. Gasps! Armed and dangerous - modern levite, a worship warrior "I will never leave you nor forsake you." Labels: In the mirror, School -The Princess Jesus Loves- 12:16 AM
My first day in PL! haha.. reached school at 720 when the assembly sort of just started. Super embarrassed when wenkai n me went into the hall. HAHA. But not too bad, just simple introduction. Then got to meet mrs lee. Basically, i'm not too sure what is the requirement of ESE, it's pretty new. But.... she's quite funny. HAHA. Said i've been back, so don't need the 2 wks of observation, can give me hard work. =p My coordinating teachers are Mrs Raja and Ms Wong. =) Very nice... Trying to fit their timetable together so that i can attend some of their lessons.. The teachers have been very nice too. Received welcomes n smiles... =D A wonderful family indeed. Oh... Mdm Dhillon is retiring. SO SAD... gosh. I really treasure her alot of my teacher... Without her, i wouldnt have been able to get A2 for english n B3 for lit. Thanks mdm dhillon! (as if she will see it... haha) Anyway, my legs are aching now. My shoes are abit too loose, so had to grip them. Now pain pain... i shall go n rest them. HAHA. looking forward to seeing him tmr! *grins cheekily* Labels: School -The Princess Jesus Loves- 12:35 AM
Finished my second paper today! organometallic. Alot of things to memorise. My brain was bursting.. Seahling said, "脑里有时终须有,脑里无时莫强求." haha. good eh. The paper wasn't too difficult, but it was tedious, alot of things to write and do. But overall, do-able.. will pass, just a matter of the grade. HAHA... Just hoping to maintain my second lower... Since i have abit of time.. Shall update abit. Celebrated seahling's birthday on wed.. Got her a cake and card. Made her pass a slice of cake to prof leong. HAHA.. i so love my lab group, we always have so much fun together, talking, laughing, joking, even suaning each other. Or rather, aifen n i always get suan-ed. HAHA. They very bad, call me she-beng.. cos say i'm very beng-ish in my actions. Drama princess too. Drama princess maybe la, but i'm not beng... =( Then today, had dance!!! Casey taught the choreo for Redeemer. I like the song, very child-like, simple yet meaningful. The dance fits it so well. HAHA. Nice... Sam went through Shout of the King again, with abit of changes.. Good, less turning, less giddiness. haha... but these 2 songs are physically very tiring, very fast. I need to up my stamina. Hee.. Had a nice ride home with grandpa, sam, candy n vanessa, and we got lost at vanessa's place. HAHA. I will be lost in that place 100 times if you put me there 100 times, of course from different locations and different timing la. And i like the song "Lord of All". HAHA. OH.... OH... OH OH OH OH Labels: School, Serving God -The Princess Jesus Loves- 2:56 AM
Tomorrow is my second paper... Alot of things to remember. My brain is spinning and giddy.. Jia you, huihui!!! 1 more week! I will make it through. =) Labels: School -The Princess Jesus Loves- 11:07 PM
Had my first paper today. And it was raining cats and dogs.... Goodness. The rain was so heavy that i couldnt even see the flats in front of my house! So misty cos of the rain. So i wore 7/8, my contact lens (to save myself the trouble of drying my specs) and slippers. great choice.... Cos.. some places were so flooded, my whole feet were covered with water... i felt wet. The paper was super tough...testing on thinking, more than whether you studied. Haha.. maybe the rain was to cry for us, for the difficult paper! HAHA. I kept skipping questions, because i didnt know how to do. Kept asking God to help me... and after the paper, my head was bursting. Gosh... giddy and pain. The world seemed to be spinning. i think i think too much.. over-worked my brain. 2 more papers to go.. and that will be the end of my NUS days. WOW. So fast... hopefully can do better for the remaining 2, so that i can pull up my grades. But.. i need to zzz first. my poor brain... Psalm 34:4-10 "I sought the Lord, and he answered me...." God heard all my prayers and he answered. Thank you Lord. =) Labels: School -The Princess Jesus Loves- 12:54 AM
had my last lecture on wed, last tutorial on thurs. Wow... that's the last of my 4 years in NUS. And friday was our honours symposium, a day to put up all our posters, present to our examiners and other who were interested, of course also a day of photo taking. HAHA. had lots of fun, though was abit jin zhang to present to my examiners. But luckily, they were pretty nice.. and they came in the earlier part of the day. So i could enjoy myself the later part of the day. My poor friend was bombed by her examiner.. haiz. how can someone be that bad. We also had our dinner at nus guild house. The food was ok, enjoyed the company of my table, my usual clique and my boss. The guys, or rather boys, were mad. Esp one who were drunk and started talking n doing nonsense. I finished one glass of red wine on my own. HAHA. the first time. Sat, had cell with the girls in PL. Glad to have wanteng join us. =) After that, rushed down to TCT for SP tea with educators. yes, i was late. Haiz.. must really learn to plan my time properly n make correct decisions. Wanted to take cab, but spent 10 min waiting, wanted to alight at redhill, but it was raining. was super irritated. But God said i must not let my circumstances determine how i feel n react, not from outside in, but inside out. So cooled down le.. SP'a talk was abit chim. 2 main things i caught. 1) teachers reproduce their kinds. Imagine 100 huihuis, will it be a benefit to the world or destruction? Wow. I mean i know teachers have an impact on their students, but this thought caught me. What type of students do i want to reproduce? 2) I must be a good teacher! That's when what you say n do will have an impact. Not for the fame or reward, but so that people will turn to me and follow Christ. Be really good, then nobody can stick any complains or false comments on me. Mum was having gastric on sat night, so didnt want to go church on sun. But i want her to go, so... i placed my hands on her stomach n started praying. Surprisingly, she just closed her eyes and prayed. I didnt speak out, cos abit weird. But i heard Jesus saying she will be healed tmr and will go to church. Sunday, parents went for breakfast and came back only at 11. Was abit sad, like does that mean they dont want to go church le. But when dad came home, he asked how come i havent changed. And mum said she was ok le. So in the end, they did go church with me! Jesus is real! But we were late, had to sit outside n watch the sermon on TV. Contacted pastor barnabas to see if the cell leader could meet us, but he was at encounter and the cell leader was in service and on duty later. No choice. Hopefully can get them to meet somehow... Mum has been pretty responsive nowadays. When pastor prayed, she will also lay hands on her stomach, close her eyes n pray. Dad abit here n there. Went down with kit just now to tecman and bought 2 chinese bibles. One with large print for mum, one which is big enough and light for dad to bring around. happy. And i bought drawing near by John Bevere for myself, since xiang wants to do it next. Happy..=) Labels: Event, Give thanks, School -The Princess Jesus Loves- 12:37 AM
